Las Vegas, NV, October 15, 2020
AXEL, a data custody provider, announces its partnership with national non-profit Start Small Think Big, a leading organization that helps under-resourced small businesses and entrepreneurs to access much-needed legal, financial and marketing services from a network of top-tier professional volunteers. The organization is particularly recognized for supporting entrepreneurs who are of color, women, members of other disadvantaged groups, and/or low-income with annual business revenues under $1M.
AXEL will provide the Start Small Think Big community with access to AXEL Go, its privacy and security-focused, file-sharing and storage platform, as well as educational support about the importance of data custody and protecting their personal and business data. AXEL will host a free webinar on October 27, 2020, where featured experts in the cybersecurity field will discuss best practices for small businesses, as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month comes to a close.
“We are delighted to share our secure file-sharing technology with such a worthwhile organization as Start Small Think Big,” says Ben Ow, President and CTO of AXEL. “Since it focuses on helping its network of entrepreneurs to connect with legal and financial experts, there may be certain unacceptable security risks with the exchange of information between parties. Small business owners have enough to worry about on a day-to-day basis with maintaining and growing their businesses. We want to provide the easiest, most secure way for them to focus on their businesses, without having to worry about their private information or documents being at risk.”
Start Small Think Big believes that access to high-quality legal, financial management, and marketing services is an essential part of starting or growing a successful business, which is why they focus on providing access to these services to small business owners who typically would not be able to afford them on their own. Their passion for assisting entrepreneurs is a valuable complement to AXEL’s commitment to data custody.
“File sharing between our entrepreneurs and the network of pro bono legal service providers we work with is a vital aspect of our engagement,” said Ian Brown, Director of Technology at Start Small Think Big. “It’s a real advantage to be able to recommend a tool that is both easy for our entrepreneurs to adopt and robust enough to ensure that access and security become a non-issue.”
The AXEL Go platform offers industry-leading security and privacy features. When files are shared, they are actually split into tiny “shards” and distributed to various servers closest to the recipient. This process, which uses the same encryption technology that government agencies and the military use to secure their confidential files, significantly reduces the risk of a data breach, since the file remains divided and spread across different locations. This combination of features makes the platform an extremely secure option to protect even the most sensitive or confidential information.
The company also just launched the Secure Fetch feature which allows AXEL Go users to request files from anyone by sending a link to an open container. The recipient uploads the necessary documents without even having to sign up for an AXEL Go account. All users, including AXEL Go account holders and the non-account users can work together with the benefit and reassurance of secure file sharing and storage.
